Our Programs
PyS offers comprehensive substance use prevention programs and services in the Northeast San Fernando Valley and Palmdale area with funding from Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Services are aimed at general populations in multiple settings, such as schools, community centers, and faith-based organizations in both the Northeast San Fernando Valley and Palmdale areas.
What is Prevention?
Prevention is a vital approach aimed at promoting healthy and informed choices to avoid the harmful consequences of substance abuse. We use a proactive and comprehensive strategy designed to reduce access and availability to substances. Prevention efforts include education, community outreach, addressing risk factors, and development of coping skills aimed at equipping individuals, families, and communities with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to make healthy choices and resist the pressures associated with substance use.
Youth 4 Hoods Coalition
Join the Youth 4 Hoods Coalition, where community members, students, parents, and community leaders unite to curb access to alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs.
Empowering youth and communities, we advocate for healthier lifestyles and safer communities.
Our general coalition meeting is every second Thursday at 6:00 pm at our San Fernando Office.
